Jis nun eh nirankar na chete us bande nun jano murda;
Dhrigakar hai usda jeena naam bina jo firda turda. Maya de vich leen jo rehnda har vele krijhda te jhurda; Manmukh kade na rehnda saabat loon de vaangun rehnda khurda. Naam vihoone saakat taayi badiyan da hi furna furda; Kahe avtar na taale koi aakh sunaya likhya dhurda. |

The one who does not remember God, should be taken as dead;
Cursed is the life of the man who moves about without the Divine Name. Engrossed in the material world, he always frets and frowns; The wayward is never stable and goes on corroding like a piece of salt. Evil strikes the mind of the irrational person devoid of the Divine Name; Avtar says, nobody can avert what is ordained as divine will, and is the divine utterance (of the True Master). |
Meaning
The one, who does not remember God, should be taken as dead; the life of the man who moves about without the Divine Name is cursed. Due to occupation in the material world, he always worries and frowns. The disobedient is never stable and goes on decomposing like a piece of salt. Evil attacks the mind of the unreasonable person which is not occupied with the Divine Name. Baba Avtar singh ji Says that nobody can avoid what is meant as divine will, and is the divine word (of the True Master).
